How to get Google Earth for Ubuntu
Do you want to be able to use Google Earth in Ubuntu, but tried to download it but could never figure out how to install it? This guide will show you how!
1. Download Google Earth from Google’s website normally
3. Save it to your Desktop. This should be the defult option in Firefox to save downloaed files to your desktop. If you want to change your download location in Firefox, then in Firefox go to: Edit > Preferences And in the main tab under Downloads, you can tell it to Save Files to Desktop.
4. Once it is downloaded, you should see a file on your Desktop that says GoogleEarthLinux.bin
5. Right-click on that icon and choose: Open With Other Application…
6. A window should pop up. On the bottom of that window click: Use a Custom Command. Type “sh” in that box and hit enter.
7. A window will appear with white text on a black background… just wait. Then the Google Earth Installer window will apear.
8. All the default settings should be fine, and just click Install.
9. It will now install. It wont take long. And then you will have Google Earth installed!
10. A new icon will apear on the desktop. It will be Google Earth. It will ask if you want to approve it or something like that. And then you can use Google Earth.
You can also start Google Earth by clicking: Applications > Internet > Google Earth (which may take a restart to show up…)

Using Windows Media Center with your TV Tuner without an IR Remote
So, when I got my TV Tuner, i did not get an IR Remote to use with it. But, i set up everything in Windows Media Center… it picks up the signal, but i get to this step and it says i have to test my IR Remote… and i cant skip it… That was a very bad idea on Microsoft’s part… BUT, thankfully their is a way to get past…
1. First, you’ll need to download a fake driver to act like you have an IR Receiver and such.
2. Next, in Windows you need to go to add new hardware. In Windows 7, you’ll need to type: hdwwiz in the start menu search, then click the program that shows up.
3. Go through the steps, and when you get to where it asks you to choose from the list below select the type of hardware you are installing. Click the very first thing in the list: Show All Devices
4. Then click the Have Disk… button.
5. Then browse for where you saved the downloaded fake driver. Go into the: Vista MCE IR Blaster folder, then 3013, then HAVA, then click the havair.inf file inside then click Open.
6. Then click OK in that window. Then in the Add New Hardware Wizard it should show up as HAVA IR Driver for eHome. Then click Next in the window.
7. It might give you a warning because the driver is not digitally signed, just click Continue anyways if that happens…
8. Then it will install the driver.
9. Now, you can go back into Windows Media Center. Then, under Tasks click, Settings > TV > Set Up Your Signal
10. Now go through the steps… and everything should go good. And for the remote things just pick something random, since the remote wont work anyways. When it asks for you to enter the number for test, use the numbers on your Keyboard.

How to get Ubuntu
1. First, you will need to download the Ubuntu iso. You can get them here.
2. Next, if you dont already have one, you need an iso burner. InfraRecorder works great, and its freeware.
3. Once you get InfraRecorder all installed and the Ubuntu iso downloaded, open up InfraRecorder and choose Write Image.
4. In the file browser choose the Ubuntu iso file that you downloaded.
5. Then pop in a blank CD-R disc, and the default InfraRecorder settings should be fine and you can click burn.
6. Then when you got the image burned onto the CD you can install Ubuntu on your computer as a second OS buy clicking on the CD in the “Computer/My Computer”. And choosing it to install right inside of Windows.

Well, since i recently got myself an iPod Touch, i thought my website could use an iPhone Safari/mobile version just to make it look a bit nicer on the screen… so i got some plug-ins for WordPress and a theme for it, and now it will detect if you are on an iPhone or iPod Touch and automatically load the mobile version! yay!
